Plotting a 3-D surface plot in Matlab

I have a spreadsheet file. The value in each cell represents the 'z' or height of the surface plot. And naturally, the x,y position of the value in the array forms the base.

The Matlab examples I'm finding online all use z = 'an equation' to plot the graphs. In my case, I already know my z values. Can someone help me with plotting this?

You can use the surf(X,Y,Z) function. Probably you have to use also the meshgrid function to have the X and Y in the right format.
