I have a question about the interpolation function(s). I am using interp2 to expand a 5 x 5 matrix (Z), and I have input x and y vectors. My question is, is there any way to add an additional (single) point. In other words, I know the 'peak' of this surface, but I do not have any other info on the points along either xpeak or ypeak. I am pretty sure that there is no way to put blank entries in the Z matrix along xpeak and ypeak.
One possible solution that I have come up with is to interpolate Z as it is now, then extract the values along xpeak and ypeak, and then plug them back into the original matrix. This is obviously not ideal though, and I am not sure how much error would be created.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
