Which base version of ARM is supported by Embedded Linux ?

santoshnDsantoshnD Member Posts: 3

As per my informations,
RTLinux comes with support to ARM architecture from version 9, ARM9 and above.
It requires new design to support ARMV4.

Still I look for some option in Embedded Linux.

Can anyone please help me - Which base version of ARM is supported by Embedded Linux ?

I mean the support for that ARM version exist currently and it will not require totally new design for the port ?

Is it possible with ARM version 4 ?

Your help is greatly appreciated.
Regds.

The ARM processor based on the ARMv7-M architecture is supported by Embedded Linux. ARM cortex-m3 is a brand new ARM processor which is very popular now. if you want to develop project under the linux environment, you can select an evaluation board based on cortex-M3 core. visit: http://www.embedinfo.com/en
