Alternative to Apache

I'M having a hard time installing Apache on windows. I downloaded the file and unzipped it, but now it just seems to be a folder, I don't know how to start or install the program. Can someone give me a hand or tell me about an alternative to using Apache. Note that I'M only trying to learn PHP, I'M not actually trying to write an application for a server. Thanks.
