for you rohi, i will be gladly to help you...

your problem seems to be familiar with me. that is our finals just this past semester, last october 2007. Your problem is just easy if the case was likely the same as i did.

first, you have to create the main form. after that, you have to encorporate something. Are you familiar with a web browser program? This can help you a lot because this will be your key to success in making your project.

if not, try to check this site: http://www.vbtutor.net/

here are some notes with regards to your problem:

add these elements and we can use these later on:
1. image box
- the output area of the image to be seen
2. combo list box
- the list where to choose a format of an image to be viewed in the image box
3. drive list box
- the list of chosen memory drive where the image may be found
4. file list box
- the list of images to be chosen and be viewed in the image box
5. directory list box
- the list where a folder may contain the images needed
6. 2 command buttons
- uses to view or to clear the image in the image box

here are some of the provedures:
Private Sub Form_Load()
combo1.text "*.jpeg"
combo1.AddItem "*.jpeg"
combo1.AddItem "*.wav"
combo1.AddItem "*.png"
End Sub

Private Sub Combo1_Change()
if Combo1.ListIndex = 0 then
File1.Pattern = "*.jpeg"
elseif Combo1.ListIndex = 1 Then
File1.Pattern = "*.wav"
else
File1.Pattern = "*.png"
End Sub
