getting assembler and C in same project to talk

If a C file has a label that an assembler routine needs to jump to, how do you get the assembler file to recognize the label in the C file?

This is most likely bad programming.
Use inline assembly blocks if possible, or else make the assembly part a true function.

The way I see it... Well, it's all pretty blurry

I think so too, but anyway it's compiler dependend.
Have a look at the object code and see if you can make some sence of it.
