DOS FTP auto-login?

ccvortexccvortex Posts: 1Member
I am creating a .bat file that I need to have do an auto login to my FTP server. Is this possible?

I need the bat file to first cd to a specific dir on my c drive, then log in to my FTP server, cd to a specific FTP dir, and then upload a bunch of .log files.
So far I have this as the order of what needs to be done in the .bat file:

cd C:Program FilesApplicationlogs
ftp -i -v 12.34.56.78
cd html/myfolder
mput *.log

except I need it to auto-login to the FTP.

Any help is appreciated.

You are not using MS-DOS operating system, but a command prompt windows in the MS-Windows operating system. MS-DOS does not know anything about long file names or names with spaces.

As for your specific question -- I don't have a clue.

The -s:file switch should allow you to create a file:

    user username
    password
    cd html/myfolder
    mput *.log

Which would send all the necessary ftp commands after the ftp program starts up. That is, if you want your password sitting on the computer in a(unprotected) file...
