Hel with receive interrupt from serial port

Hi All

I am new to and would appreciate some help with the following problem.

I have a serial device that I am monitoring for activity, at the moment I wait for a set time then check the receive buffer for data. This is clearly a very inefficient way to do things. Can anyone tell me how to create an interrupt routine that reads the data out of the receive buffer when the set receive_buffer_threshold is reached.

Any help will be most appreciated.
