MFC App exe launch error

luihondluihond Member Posts: 21
Hi Guys. I wrote an MFC app linked to an access db. I have compiled this using Visual studio 2003 and it all works fine on my PC. However, I have compiled it to release version and copied the EXE out to another PC as well as the access db. Before I compiled i changed the path to the access db to where I copied the access db to on the other pc. When I launch the exe on the other pc i get an error message that reads as follow.
"This application has failed to start because the MFC71.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Any ideas on how I can fix this or have i maybe compiled it wrong?

Cheers
Luihond

    Install the MFC71.DLL

Your program has a dependency of MFC version 7.1 it seems.
Installing the DLL file on the target computer should fix the problem (note that there might be more than one DLL needed).

The way I see it... Well, it's all pretty blurry

Guys - How do I pack the exe and all the dll's in an msi or something that will deploy all the required componets? Or how do I include the dll's etc when compiling the app? I'm using vs 2003.
