ASM GUI API???? I am confused!

where can i learn how to program in asm so i can get buttons and windows insted of a commandline like program. and what is a GUI and API?
sorry for my bad english. hope its understandable:)

    GUI = graphical user interface
    API = Application programming interface
    For descriptions see wikipedia.

    If you want to make GUI based programs, then there are other options like VC or Delphi. These provide a lot of higher level routines and a visual IDE (Integrated development environment) for designing your GUI, while you can use assembly to make the program logic.

    Download fasm, and there's some examples of how to make win32 api programs.
