Replacing Existing Form

hwrd69hwrd69 Member Posts: 2
I have a project that has one, or more, forms that need to be updated/replaced. What I can't figure out is the correct way to create new forms to replace the ones I want to update and then delete/hide the originals and test the new ones before permanently deleting the old forms.

Any Ideas? Thanks ahead of time for any and all assistance.

Howard

I didn't think this was going to be such a difficult subject to get answers on. I thought for sure someone would have ideas, or if it didn't make sense, someone would question what I was trying to do. Bummer...

couple ways to do this, one way-

with windows explorer [not vb6 ide], copy the FORM1.FRM file to a new file [files reside in your project folder]

    rename the file to FORM2.FRM

with notepad, open FORM2.FRM and rename any caption or attribute from FORM1 to FORM2

in vb6, right-click project explorer and Add, Add File... to bring in the copied form

in vb6, use the properties window to change the form name
    ie:
    form1 to form1_old
    form2 to form1
