using USB

hey, i'm in a project now(school), we must make a machine for a shop where customers can edit en print their photos themself.

therefore i need to some thing that can detect USB drives on input and eventually read out all the images..

is there a open source library that i can use??
thnx for the reply and i've already googled for it ;)

    I don't think you have to access the USB ports directly, just find out what printers are installed on the computer. If you are using MS-Windows you will use win32 api EnumPrintDrivers() function.

    well to access a printer is not what i meant, i want to access a drive where images are on

    A usb drive is just like any other removable drive and has a drive letter. You can get an example of how to get all the available drive letters from the link below. The code is MFC but you can pick out the win32 api function calls you need to get the drive letters and plug them into your program.
