help id-ing mdb file

My UPS shipper system uses a file called upsdb.mdb. I need to extract some of the data contained therein, but not thru the ups system; no facilities to do so within the system.

I am able to put the data on-screen by using a freebee called MDB Viewer (MDBPlus.exe), and can see the parts I need, but not sure how to get them.

I cannot open the file using office97 pro version of access... unrecognizable database..

I'd be happy to be able to import it into excel, or an ascii file. From there I can get it into Q&A 4.0 where I need it.

First, any way I can id this file as VB or not?
Next, any ideas which way to go from here?

Extraction of the data will be a weelky operation.
Thanks for any available help. tom

the file may just be in a newer version of access. access97 will not open access 2000, 2002, 2003, or 2007 file formats. with vb, you could use ado or ado.net with the Jet4.0 provider to traverse a table.
