GUI Components Don't Show Up ( sometimes )

OK, this is going to sound strange.

I'm using eclipse to do some basic swing programming. My main problem is that I can compile and run my program with no errors or warnings every time. Sometimes, visual components such as JComboBox or JTextField will show up on the screen exactly as I want them to, and other times they won't. Even if I don't change any code, I get flaky performance.

It doesn't seem to matter whether I compile and run from Eclipse or the command line. FWIW, any output I send to the console is rock solid.

Help, this is driving me crazy!

Which layout manager do you use? It is often good to specify th layout manager explicitly, so you can be sure that the code works correctly.
