I have an application that creates and opens Word documents. If Outlook is open (which uses winword.exe), I get these dialogue messages about saving the normal.dot file when I try to close Word. I think the answer is setting some parameter when I open Word in the application. Any suggestions?

I call this a known bug. There are web sites that talk about creating your own .DOT file to use with your application, but that didn't work for me. It seems that you just have to live with this and tell the users of your application to close Outlook. You simply have to press OK and Cancel a couple of times to get past that when closing Word. It hasn't changed with Office 2007 either.
