apache

hi every1
im using a php script to start a daemon, but in some cases i need to restart the apache server; that terminates the daemon that was started by the script; is there any way to prevent apache from stoping its child processes; or this is a linux process handling issue ??

That probably is not possible - a child process will have the same pid as the parent process so there would probably be no way of killing that process. It would be best for the script to not want to stop apache as the only way to stop is to either explicitly kill it or exit it completely gracefully.
