Does COM object run in the same thread of the application?

Hi Expert,

I am trying to learn COM for DirectShow. I don't fully got the concept of COM. I originally think COM is just a place where all the dll etc located and the program can load them up according to their CLSID. Then now, I am very confused about does it just load up the code in the Dll and run them in the same thread as the applicaton or they process it in their whole thread.

Best Regards
Ferdinand
