Position Description:

Position Title: Sr. Programmer Analyst
Location: Sterling Jewelers, Akron, OH

Responsibilities:

This is a specialist area of responsibility within the title of Senior Programmer Analyst. This position will be responsible for developing, administering and supporting the Lawson financial suite, along with ancillary responsibility for development and support of other financial applications, working within a team environment.

This position is responsible for writing the complex programs of development projects, as well as maintaining and supporting existing applications. This position is also responsible for translating business requirements into effective and efficient computer systems for small projects or a sub-system of a larger project. This person will be responsible for administering Lawson security, applying maintenance patches and performing system upgrades.

This position is responsible for the design, coding, unit and system testing, documentation, assisting in training and implementation of projects, programs, work flows, etc. which are assigned by the Director/Project Manager/Leader.

This position is responsible for maintaining a very high level of technical expertise on all operating systems, software and hardware platforms.

Qualifications Desired:

At least 5 years technical experience in the design, development and deployment of complex business applications. Should be proficient in technical design areas and system testing. Ability to work on a team and independently within established coding standards, as well as, possess the ability to employ full life-cycle methodology.

Well defined communication skills and a demonstrated aptitude for communicating with both the technical staff and end-users to understand application requirements and design.

Experience with ONE or MORE of the following programming languages, operating systems, software or hardware platforms:

* Lawson Software
* COBOL / MicroFocus COBOL
* Unix scripting
* SQL development
* Client / Server and web development
* VB.Net
* JAVA
* DELPHI
* PLSql
* J2EE platform
* Linux / Unix
* WebSphere Application Server
* MQ Series middleware
* Oracle - data design, triggers, stored procedures
* Remedy IT Service Management Software
