System Tray Programming

darthmoobeydarthmoobey Posts: 140Member
Hello gang,

I was wondering, is there a way, or a program already out there that can add a particular program or process to run while storing it in the system tray. For example say I want to run windows media player to stream music, but want it minimized as in icon in the system tray. I Am currently reading up if this is possible, but thought it would be easier to ask if any of you know the possibility of this. I would appreciate any help I can get from you all.

Thank you all,
The Darthmoob

I don't know the code, but you'd have to hide the main window (find it first and then hide it) and then let your program create the tray icon.

In case of Windows Media Player, if you have Windows XP, there's a bonus pack for download that will add a tray capability for Media Player: "Windows Media Bonus Pack for Windows XP" (just roles of the tongue)

    Best Regards,
    Richard
