Is there anyone out there willing to help a newbie learn how to use the kill() command?

    Never used it I assume you mean the one on the Process object. Go to www.msdn.com and search for it it will give the definition, signiture, and an example of how to use it.

    if you are using VB.net have the follwoing statements in the first line of the form.

    Imports System.IO

    and then you should able to use Kill statement as :

    Kill "C: emp hisfile.txt"
