Hi, I'm a bit confused about what your requesting. So what i'm assuming is that you already have your Samba server setup in Linux with your smb.conf file so you can see your shares with your Windows machine. Now i'm assuming at this point you are connecting to your Linux share attempting to retrieve a file. The problem you may be having is that you the Linux share attatched to a EXT filesystem and trying to either transfer it over to a fat32 or ntfs partition. The problem with that is that certain files are only supported on EXT and fat32 and ntfs cannot allow you to transfer them over. Some examples are symbolic links hidden files (files that have dots in front of them)

If you wish to have further help please elaborate

    Thanks
