problem with sql statement

i am using access database and am having problem in writting a SQL query

like if i write in the manner

SELECT * FROM customer WHERE firstname = 'Diwakar'

now what i want is instead of directly giving the name supplying the content of textbox

Please help

    Try something like this:

    Dim strSQL as String

    strSQL = "SELECT * FROM customer WHERE firstname = '" & Text1.Text & "';"
