I'm a newbie at Apache and need some slight help.
I'm curently hosting a webpage from my computer and have been testing it with other people for the past week. Now some people can see the site, and others can't. In one case one person was able to see my website and reply to my message board, but now, can no longer view my website. I'm not sure what the problem is and have been to many a help site but the sad part is there's not much suppost for Apache as there should be. Here's what I have set up:
My website is: www.fugitive-zyon.com
I'm running the latest version of Apache 2 version from my Windows XP Pro machine.
I have hi-speed internet through my local cable company.
I'm sharing a router with my XBOX being the only thing connected other then my computer. I have opened post 80 to my computer and also setup Virtual Server configs on my router. both port 80 is privitized and public. Not sure why they want me to privitize a port if I want it open to the public.
I have a Zone Alarm firewall, which I'm not sure if it's teh cause of my delema, but I properly setup ZA to except incoming and outgoing on post 80 for this machine. "if you can recomend a better firewall with better control and no BS please do"
My domain name is hosted by Web.com and they have done everything in there power to help me, so I'm 99% sure it's not on their end."i highly recomend to everyone BTW"
The site has shown to work well on some machines ranging from dialup to cable connections, but on a majority of machines either gives a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" Error or a "404" error.
Any help would be great. I'm trying to learn this by myself as much as I can, but even some people need a teacher or teachers.
If you need anymore information, I will be glad to provide it for you.
And if this question was already delt with and a sloution was already brought up, a corrisponding link would be awesome.
Thanx
