Can anyone help with this issue? How do you tell the java compiler where to find files/images if they are not in the root directory? Using / or just gives an error message. If I wanted to load an image from 'My Pictures' for example, or from a specific URL on the internet, what is the structure of the java syntax? Any help is much appreciated :-)

No need to reply, I've sorted it now!

BUT... new problem: Can anyone tell me how to get the address of a file returned as a String by a JFileChooser object? It's crucial to what I am doing. Thanks.
