How to get specific data from a text file

PersephonePersephone Posts: 8Member
I'm supposed to create an application where a user can enter for example a member number and then have an item of information displayed to them on the screen. Is it possible and if so how do I get the application to read that specific information from a text file and then returning it?

If anyone has any ideas or clues that'd be great.

I can only assume that you are a Visual Basic programmer (given the nature of your question), so here is a link to go read:

I would however reccomend that you use Server.MapPath(string) to establish the file location though.
