How do I acquire a legal, reasonable priced Delphi?
I enjoyed using Delphi, and since I have had more experience in pascal and Delphi than I do in c/c++, I would prefer to continue using it. However, a trial basically says that the code is not yours, although not being able to distribute is understandable since you havent paid. But my understanding is the personal edition doesnt allow you to create a program and sell it. Looking at the cost its quite prohibitive to buy the personal much less the professional edition. An unused/unregistered version on ebay is quite expensive too, unless you get the academic, which is even more restrictive than personal.
Ive looked at the free ones out there that will use the same syntax as Delphi, but of course they cant use Delphi components (at least what I need) which defeats part of the point for me.
Does anyone know of some older versions like 5 or 6 I could get rather cheap, full legal of course. Id rather not get sued or have criminal charges pressed against me, thank you very much. But getting sued trying to get compensation for the time I put into something is also not something that I want.
Sorry if this isnt an appropriate place, not sure where I should be asking.
Thanks in Advance,
