Reading in js?

Me1Me1 Posts: 29Member
Hey to all that can help
I am trying to read from a file in js. i have look around and it seems like the only way is to make an applet that parses or an active x controler..
is there any simple way to just make some js read a file that is located in the same directory as the web page?

any help would be greatly assisted. or even a tutorial web page to answer this may also help as i have looked for one.
thank you

Javascript in itself cannot read files from either the client or the server. You can dynamically link internal javascript code to external javascript source files, but these files will be processed as javascript code.
