Where to start if I want to write a program for PocketPC?

Hello. ^_^

I've some knowledge in C/C++ but I know nothing about writing a program to run on PocketPC.

I want to develop a Japanese flashcard program(for PocketPC). I'm studying Japanese language myself, so I want this to be my senior project.

I'm planning that the program will have the function to detect strokes-order which involve some letter recognition algorithm. So it can notice the user if he's writing in wrong direction/strokes-order.

Questions :

1. Where should I start? Can anyone recommend me some website with tutorials please?

2. Which programming language do you think will be best suit for this project?

Thank you for your time ^_^

    That's evt2002web-min.exe which gets you eVB and the Emulator.
    This comes with eVC++ too, but its the old 3.0 version.

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results.aspx?displaylang=en&freeText=eVC++

    That's eVC++ 4.0 and Service Packs for targeting .NET devices.
    For these, click the button to allow WinZIP to extract them, otherwise it goes into a weird folder you won't be able to find.

    The Pocket PC 2003 SDK for eVC++ 4.0 (includes API docs)

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results.aspx?displaylang=en&freeText=pocket+pc+sdk

    Other SDKs (Game API)

    CD/Product Key: At the bottom of the webpages...you'll need these.

    You might also want to look at Pelles C http://www.smorgasbordet.com/pellesc/ but I believe it only targets StrongARM- and XScale- processor based PPCs.
