Inserting strings into sql server

I am trying to insert a string into sql server from visual basic. When i try to insert as a string i get an error which says it cannot insert a constant, expression or column name. This is because it is trying to insert the string with "" when for sql server it needs to be 'hjghjh'

Any ideas how to sort this problem out

I have tried a few but none seem to work :(

    Please post the code that creates the SQL insert statement.

    [code]
    $ select * from users where clue > 0
    no rows returned
