Inserting sql from vb into sql server

Hi,

I am trying to insert a random string into sql server from visual basic however inserting number strings works fine but when i try and insert a string i.e. 'z' it says that you cannot insert a constant, expression or column name.

Anyone know how to overcome this it would be much appreciated.

    Hi Lisa:

You need to post more info here. There are so many ways to send data to SQL, that we'd be guessing, and that wouldn't help.

It sounds like you may be trying to send the data without putting it into a variable first...but who knows?

    Let us know more!
