editing file remotely

Hello,
I have a slight problem. I'm using windows XP professional. I need to edit a file in c:winntsystem32driversetchost on about 300 remote PCs running windows 2000. The problem is that the generic user isn't part of the administrator group. I can't give generic administrator access, this would be a security violation. What I need to be able to do is gain administrator access temporarily, edit the file, save changes, exit out of administrator access. I think the easiest way would be to use a .bat file and NOT VB. Any advice on either how to do this in VB.NET or ms dos batch would be greatly apperiated.
Thanks in advance
