In search of a graphics engine

Does any one know of an engine that will take plain text decriptions of the scene to render a simple world?

  • I've heard of VRML (virtual reality markup language) which basically scans a text file (don't know if in recent versions it scans a XML or specific formated file) and renders a world.

The downside is that it's not that widely supported (it was originally intended as a browser plug-in and it would have allowed you to view 3d graphics as easy as you could see a web page). Do a search for it on the web, i'm sure you'll find useful info.
  • I would try Direct3D for VC++. There are some tutorials at http://www.two-kings.de/tutorials/dxgraphics/.
