help - delphi doesn't see a .dcu

I'm new to using Delphi and keep

getting an error message when trying

to run a simple program. It reads:

[Fatal Error]

File not found: 'c:delphiProjectsBplfgwin.pas'

I started a new project called "test" and added

fgwin to the end of the uses statement:

uses

Windows, Messages, SysUtils, Classes, Graphics,

Controls, Forms, Dialogs, fgwin;

then when I run it I get the above error.

I have put fgwin.dcu in the Lib directory

where all of the other units listed in the

statement are located. I have tried putting

it in every directory I could, such as

Projects est and Bin and ProjectsBpl.

No matter what I try the same error occurs.

I have never tried to add an external unit

using Delphi so I don't know what is wrong.

Thanks for any help!

Make sure the DCU is compiled for the same version of Delphi that you're using.

  • Try adding a second USES clause right below {$R,*.RES} at the beginning of the implementation section of your form.
