autocompletion

Hello,

Can anyone tell me how I can make sure Internet Explorer will ask the user if the username and password should be saved ?

I already turned on the option in tools/internet options/content/autocomplete

The form is submitted by Javascript: document.theform.submit();
the form contains:
username

password

<input type="button" onClick="JavaScript:SomeValidationFunctionThatSubmitsTheForm();"
Mozilla Firefox doesn't seem to have any problems with it, but what does explorer look for...

And I've already read this article but couldn't find it...
