Programming Digitial I/O Ports

Hello everyone.

I am new to programming w/ hardware, so this will be a very newbie question to ask.

How do i communicate with the PC-104 Digital I/O ports using C++ on Windows CE 5.0? I'm not asking for details but more like an idea of how to start so i can learn.

Do i have to call each port by their address or is it possible to do it in a class?

Thank You guys!

Edward
