using SetTimer without specifying a HWND paramater

Hi,
How can I call a function after a known period of time (say 10000 milliseconds) without having a window to respond to WM_TIMER?

Thanks in advance,
Dan :-)

    Dont use a window with SetTimer, use a callback:
    [code]
    static void WINAPI MyTimerProc(HWND hwnd, UINT msg, int id, DWORD t)
    {
    // do your thing
    }

    // and put this somewhere in your app:
    SetTimer(NULL, 1, 10000, MyTimerProc);

    // and this when you dont want the timer to fire again:
    KillTimer(NULL, 1);
