Internal PC Speaker -> Recording/External Speaker

Is there some way that I could record Internal PC Speaker output to a midi or route it to an external speaker (connected via PCI sound card) instead of playing it on an internal speaker? I have some old internal-speaker-only DOS programs and I've had my internal speaker disconnected for a great length of time.
Windows is a 32-bit extension to a 16-bit shell of an 8-bit operating system created for a 4-bit processor by a 2-bit company who can't stand one bit of competition...still better than a Mac though.
