Are you trying to create a custom control, or convert your whole project to a dll control?

first off, you prob need to start a new windows vb application, but instead of selecting "windows application" in the type, use "windows control library". This is probably what you need.

if not drop me a message and i will try and help

Please open the .vbproj file in Notepad / Wordpad. Locate OutputType = "WinExe" and change it to OutputType = "Library"

If you have VB.Net Pro edition then you can right click on project and set project type as class Library

I am interested in creating a DLL file, but I have only the standard VS.Net package. I once read in some messageboard that there are a few ways to do this (ie: without needing to use the VS Pro edition), but I can no longer locate this information.

I am working in VB.Net, if that makes any difference.

    Can anyone help me (please!)?

    Hi,

I've heard somewhere that with VisualStudio2003 you can simply rename the EXE file to a DLL and IMPORT it in the usual way.

With 2005 you can IMPORT an EXE file without renaming it to a DLL.

I might have read it on a MSDN VB.Net forum at.>>
