line spacing in DIV

Hi.
Can anyone tell me how can i reduce the line spacing in a DIV tag that im using as a text editor. when i press enter, there is an extra line space that is printed. how can i avoid that. i want to have single line space between 2 lines just like in any ordinary text editor like notepad or word.

thanx in advance

You don't get a line break unless you use a BR tag or some block-level element appears - HTML is whitespace insensitive. I presume you're using some form of code generator? It's probably got a setting to disable that, and at the very least you should be able to edit the source.
