Is it possible to suppress Alt-Tab ?

Is it somehow possible for a program to catch

Alt-Tab keystrokes (should mean, that if the

user presses Alt-Tab. nothing happens) ?

regards

Ann

  • You can, 2 ways.

    If you want to catch it, install a system wide hook with WH_SYSMSGFILTER. That's a system wide hook not a thread one, so it should be in a DLL with shared code segments and all that good stuff :)

    If you want to only disable it, then try this trick:

    SystemParametersInfo( SPI_SETSCREENSAVERRUNNING, TRUE, &int_value, FALSE );

    This fools Windows that the screen saver is running and disables ALT-TABs.

  • Yeah, actually I don't want to catch alt-tab,

    just disable it.

    I had a look into the MSDN,

    and it seems that you can do a lot of

    other fancy stuff with SystemParametersInfo().

    Didn't know this function, thanks for

    pointing it out
