hi, i want to modify a .res file ..basically target is to change the version number of the module....which can done in .res file...so can you guys help or give me some pointer on how to go abt it..?

thats the way currently i am doing it..but i have n number of modules and going to each module one by one is bit slow...so i wanted to write a program which will take the version number as input and update each module.Thats why i am looking at modifying a res file.

For this to work, you also need to delete the .res file. Delphi will recreate the .res file using the information of the .dof file. Otherwise you need to search the new to find the file format of the .res file, because I don't know that.
