Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction for resolving this one...
I have an application written in VB (I think this question is outside the scope of VB hence this posting) that fires up an instance of WORD 97 using CREATEOBJECT. This works 99% of the time, but recently the application which had been running successfully previously, is now giving a DCOM server error on the CREATEOBJECT command. The error code is 00020906-0000-0000-C000000000046. I have looked this up via technet and this talks about cleaning the registry and reinstalling Word. If this really was the problem then the error would be encountered all the time, but it is only sporadic if so far that is may only happen on 1% of Ghosted Image machines, but one it happens it is recreateable. I know that if I reinstall the application it will fix it for a while.
Please help !
