how to stop the enter from belling people

when you hit enter, you hear a bell right?
i would like to stop it...

    i don't know how to stop bell from TEdit Class, but you can use TMemo.

    Memo1.WantReturns := False;

    and you can use this procedure

    procedure TForm1.Memo1KeyDown(Sender: TObject; var Key: Word;
    Shift: TShiftState);
    begin
    if key=$0D then begin
    caption := memo1.Text;
    end;
    end;
