Writing a newline to a file using fputs.

sinelawsinelaw Posts: 51Member
I want to write two strings, $line1="This is a test";
$line2="This is a test";

to a text file on a separate line, how would I use fputs() function to write 2 stings on 2 different lines?
When I used the newline character "/n", I got both strings on the same line with a black rectangle between each string(instead of on a newline)

    :
    echo "this is on one line
    this is on second line
    "
    it is not /n, nut

    for LF - linefeed, char 10

    for CR - carriage return, char 13
    windows-like line-break is CRLF -

    and what about fputs() ? with php you output with echo() or print()
