I need to secure my passwords on my windows 2000 and XP machines. I was reading some stuff and saw something about about a SAM database but I really have no clue about this. If this is where passwords are in XP and 2000 then could anyone give me any information about this database and how I may go about protecting it. If it isn't well then how do I secure my passwords on XP and 2000. (all passwords included not just logon)

hey im still trying to crack in to the "sam.exe" file but i guess i amy be able to help. You could try a few things one thing is Search your computer for that file (sam.exe) once you have found it make it a hidden file(that probably has already bin done so if it has and you are not satisfied you can do this. If youy have any anti virus softwear like mcaffe or norton you can set that file to never be accesd by a third party or block that file from ever being accesd by a third party.
i Hope i hjave helped you in any way what so ever ...
