XML in ASP

Can XML Data Islands be used in ASP? If so, how? Code examples would be great! If anyone can answer this or at least give insight, I would be very greatful! thanks.

To my understanding, XML Data Islands are used only at the client side. You could access the corresponding DOM object using Javascript/vbscript at the client-side and render as HTML.

But at the server-side, you could only generate an XML data island, say from the back-end database, which you might use at the front-end. Though you could create an XML DOM object as Server.CreateObject("MSXMl2.DOMDocument") and load an existing XML file at the server or generate a completely a new XML object with available methods and properties.

For XML programming reference visit: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/xmlsdk30/htm/xmmscxmlreference.asp
