How to use RTOs?

Hi,

I hear RTOs everywhere. I roughly know what RTOs is. But can anyone tell me how do we use RTOs? It's an operating system right on embedded devices right? What are the example of devices that can have an RTO?

Please help, anyone...
This question has been bothering me for quite a while.

    hi frenz,
interesting topic is being discussed, though wat god has told is ok, but for a better clearity i would like to add that,
rtos are used for the application which are having critical time demands,
where u can't even think for a delay of even a sec.
as per the terminologies it is known as hard real time os, there are also soft real time os where situation is not so critical but larger delays are also unwanted.
i hope u may get a bit clear view now.

whenever u need some clarification u can write
