move sql database

I have an sql server db (that someone else created) on a server. I want to move the sql server db to another server. What's the easiest way to copy the db from one server to the other. I have ftp info to the first server (the one I want to copy from) but that's about it.

The best way to do this would be to detach the database on the current server and reattach it on the new server.

Right Click on the database you wish to move and choose detach
Then search the computer for *.mdf until you find the database file.
Copy both the .mdf and the .ldf file to the new machine.
Open up the target machines copy of SQL Server and choose attach.
Browse for the .MDF file and click ok.
    That should do it!

    Peace
