How to install a super cool component

I have recently downloaded this super cool component. The programmer says it is for Delphi 1 To 6 and Up. I have Delphi 7 how do I install this component ? When I unzip the file it throws out a couple of .dpk , .pas and .res files. How do I get from here to a clickable component in my component pallette /bar ?

File->Open [the .dpk] file. If something needs to be compiled do that. Click install. Seems like an unintuitive place to stick that function, but that's how they did it.

That kind of worked. I open the .DPK file and it opens this little dialog where I can compile a package. Neat ! So I compile it and presto the install nutton ungreys and I can install it.
However ! Thats it. When I look in the component palette there is no new entry and the component is also not in any of the other palettes. When I click on Install Packages... in the Component menu. It is shown way at the bottom of design packages but when I click on components it just shows nothing. Am I missing a file or is something just misplaced as I get a "Super Cool Component" .BPL , .DCU and .DCP after compilation ?

Sounds like the files aren't in the delphi search path. Either move the files or add their directory to your search path. Try putting the .bpl file in delphi7in and the .dcp in delphi7lib.
