Sure I can help you... What is your base computer you are going to be
using the debugger on first of all? What version of the MC68K are we
    talking about? Just the 68000 / 68001 / 68008 / 68010?
    Or is it the 68020 / 68030 / 68040 / 88000 ?

It makes a difference believe it or not.

Do you think there's any chance of getting the debugger working on a PC for a Sega Megadrive, either emulated or the real machine?

I used to program and repair many different game systems and arcade
machines, the Sega Genesis / Megadrive was one of them. There are
C/C++ cross compilers that run on the PC and can compile to the
(Motorola) MC68000 target processor. They have built in debuggers
for code and symbolics. If you need to program in assembly language
you can do inline assembly inside function curly braces.

Most of the games on the Genesis / Megadrive were written in ANSI C
and have custom libraries for their video ASIC and sound chip made by
Yamaha. Have you done any programming in 68k before or do you have
the memory maps with the internal register listing for them? If you
don't have both it could make it pretty tough to program. I don't have
the mappings for the memory anymore, I gave it away to someone in Japan
that was overjoyed to try and program the Megadrive and MagicCD or
Megadrive CD extension system. I will dig through my stuff and see
if I can get you the information or the software so that you can
get started on the programming of the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive
What version are you looking into programming, PAL or NTSC ROMs?
I should have both in my storage here...

Ok, I have found a compiler that runs in DOS, possibly it couple be
ported to Windows. It is the standard C compiler for the Sega Genesis
    console.

I could possibly put it up on a site or if this place has a download
section I could put it up in there too. As far as a debugger are
you looking for the straight software debugger or a dongle (a piece of
hardware to plug into the system you are attempting to hack or program)
with hardware monitors and software diagnostics?

The software debuggers are available, the hardware dongles came from
Sega themselves as they called it the Sega Genesis Development Kit.

I'm looking for a debugger able to run on PC under Windows. I have a .bin file from MC68EC000 and I need to debug it. You could save me a lot of time if you know such a debugger. Thanks in advance.
